Stotfold Town Council Strategic Plan 2025–2030
Stotfold Town Council’s Strategic Plan sets out our priorities for the next five years and explains how we will continue to invest in the town, support our growing community, and manage the services and facilities that matter most to residents.
Developed by Councillors and staff, and informed by feedback from our annual residents’ survey, the plan provides a clear framework for decision-making, service delivery, and financial planning between 2025 and 2030. It ensures that the Council’s budget, resources, and work programmes are aligned with the needs and aspirations of the community.
Stotfold Town Council is responsible for a wide range of local services including play areas, recreation grounds, allotments, the cemetery, and community buildings such as the Greenacre Centre and Memorial Hall. With a population of around 10,000 residents and a budget of approximately £1 million, it is essential that future investment is carefully planned to balance service improvement with long-term financial sustainability
Our Vision
Our vision is to make Stotfold a thriving, sustainable, and inclusive town where residents enjoy a high quality of life, excellent facilities, and a strong sense of civic pride. We aim to build on our heritage, protect our green spaces, and provide services and opportunities that make Stotfold a place people are proud to live, work, and visit
Our Strategic Priorities
The Strategic Plan identifies six key priorities which will guide the Council’s work:
-
Community Facilities – Enhancing and maintaining buildings and spaces for community use.
-
Public Realm & Environment – Investing in play areas, green spaces, biodiversity and town cleanliness.
-
Governance & Resources – Ensuring strong financial management and transparent decision-making.
-
Community Engagement – Increasing participation in events and improving communication with residents.
-
Climate Action – Reducing the Council’s carbon footprint and promoting sustainable practices.
-
Partnership & Growth – Working collaboratively with neighbouring councils, schools, and voluntary organisations to improve services.
Delivering the Plan
Each of these priorities is supported by an Action Schedule which sets out clear objectives, timescales, and responsible committees. Progress will be monitored throughout the year and reported back to Full Council to ensure accountability and transparency in how we deliver services on behalf of residents
The Strategic Plan is also linked to the Council’s Medium-Term Financial Plan, helping us to maintain a balanced and sustainable budget while investing in projects such as play area improvements, community facilities, environmental initiatives, and energy-efficient street lighting
